American Paint Horse Association names Horse Show Manager and
Judges Monitor for World Championship Paint Horse Shows
FORT WORTH, Texas – The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) announced recently
the appointment of the Horse Show Manager and Judges’ Monitor for the World Championship
Paint Horse Shows. These two key positions at the World Show work to ensure that
the show is run smoothly and fairly for all involved.

Bob Geesaman of Kettering, Ohio, has been named the Horse Show Manager for the two
2010 APHA World Shows. A 40-year veteran of the horse industry, he currently serves
as the assistant horse show manager at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress and
previously managed the Ohio State Fair for 12 years. He’s also served as a ring
steward at the APHA, AQHA and PtHA World Shows. As Horse Show Manager, he will oversee
and direct the horse show class procedures and personnel, oversee arena preparation,
communicate with exhibitors and owners as well as working with the Judges’ Monitor
to ensure that rules are being followed.
“I enjoy working with new people and helping them to have a great show experience,”
said Geesaman.
Billy Steele of Amarillo, Texas, has been named to the position of Judges’ Monitor.
A veteran horse trainer and exhibitor, Steele has previously worked for AQHA as
director of judges and regional representative. He has judged at the APHA and AQHA
World Shows and the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. As Judges’ Monitor he will
work closely with the show judges to ensure proper preparation, assignment, act
as advisor to the judges, conduct video reviews as needed, and communicate with
exhibitors and owners regarding judging concerns.

roles for the World Championship Paint Horse Show,” said Lex Smurthwaite, Executive
Director of APHA. “These two horsemen have the experience, knowledge and judgment
to ensure that our World Shows are run smoothly and efficiently.”
The Summer World Show encompasses the Youth division classes along with the reining
and cattle classes and takes place June 23-July 3. The Fall World Show hosts the
Amateur and Open division classes along with the slot classes and Breeders’ Futurity.
The fall show takes place November 4-13. Both shows are held at the Will Rogers
Equestrian Complex located in Fort Worth, Texas.
