$100,000 in Awards Presented Saturday Night
Good things must come to an end, and the 2000 World Championship Paint Horse Show is no different. What better way to end than with a presentation of more than $100,000 worth of awards? Here's a recap of who won what Saturday night.
The Reserve All-Around Novice Amateur was Eva Salmon of Woodville, Washington. Riding Sirtified Male, a 7-year-old sorrel overo gelding by Sir Norfleet and out of Satin Jubilee, Eva and Sirtified Male earned a total of 44 points in Novice Hunt Seat Equitation and Novice Trail, topped off with a World Championship in Novice Horsemanship.
Salmon received a saddle blanket and custom-designed chaps from Sergeant's Western World; a straw hat courtesy of Bailey Hat Company; and a silver headstall courtesy of Woods Western.
The All-Around Novice Amateur was Denise Ann Whitton of Conroe, Texas. Riding Wonder World, a 6-year-old red dun overo gelding by Tuffys Wonder (QH) and out of Miss World, she earned a total of 47 points in Novice Hunter Hack, Hunt Seat Equitation, Horsemanship and a World Championship in Trail.

The Reserve All-Around Amateur was Jodi Bryant of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, who rode Tiny Who Too. He is an 11-year-old black tovero stallion by Preacher Bleu Bar and out of Rose Parada. Jodi and Tiny Who Too earned 70 points in Amateur Goat Tying, Pole Bending and a World Championship in Stakes Race to earn the title.

The All-Around Amateur was Jaime Bodiford of Fort Worth, Texas, riding Ima Hot Shot, an 11-year-old sorrel overo gelding by Mr Norfleet and out of Skip O Dee. Together they earned a total of 127 points in Amateur Horsemanship and Pleasure Driving, as well as an incredible four World Championships in Amateur Hunter Hack, Hunt Seat Equitation, Jumping and Working Hunter to earn the title.

The High-Point Exhibitor was Chuck Briggs of Bowie, Texas. Chuck earned 146 points on five different horses in Senior Hunter Under Saddle, Junior and Senior Hunter Hack, Senior Pleasure Driving and World Championships in Green Working Hunter, Junior Hunter Hack, and Senior Working Hunter to earn the title.

Colonel Quanah, owned by Richard Agan of Trenton, Texas, and shown by Gary Wells of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, turned in a list of wins to capture the Oscar Crigler Cattle Award, the Super Gelding Award and the High-Point Western Performance Horse Award. Colonel Quanah earned a total of 60 points in Junior Heeling, as well as earning a World Championship in Junior Steer Stopping and a Reserve World Championship in Junior Calf Roping.
Agan showed Colonel Quanah, a 1996 black tobiano gelding by Calico Quanah and out of Freckles Lady Doll (QH), in Amateur competition, winning a World Championship in Amateur Steer Stopping.

The Reserve All-Around Horse and High-Point English Performance Horse were won by To Dy For, owned by Linda Gates and Crystal Power of Salt Lake City, Utah. The 6-year-old chestnut overo gelding earned a total of 58 points in Senior Hunter Under Saddle, Senior Hunter Hack, Senior Pleasure Driving, and a World Championship in Utility Pleasure Driving. He was shown by Karen Stone, Ryan Painter, Kevin Dukes, Brian Holmes, and owner Crystal Power.

The All-Around Horse was Smokin Zippo, by Zippo A Ward (QH) and out of Sienna Twist. The 4-year-old gray overo stallion is owned by Smokin Zippo Ventures, Troy Beattie and his wife Jaymie Cruickshank of Loveland, Colorado. Smokin Zippo earned 75 points in Junior Pleasure Driving, Junior Trail, Junior Working Hunter, and Junior Western Riding as well as a Reserve World Championship in Junior Hunter Hack to earn the title. Smokin Zippo was shown by Rod Safty, Roger Deromedi, and Shelly Lundy.
