contestants, to supervise them and to answer any questions
that do not pertain to the actual placing of the animal
under consideration.

IV. Scoring and Final Standings
A. Based upon placings and oral reasons. Fifty points will constitute
a perfect score in placing the animals, as well as
fifty points constituting a perfect reasons score. In classes
with no reasons required, only placings will be considered.
B. Any ties in the tabulation of the standings will be broken by
reasons scores or using the National Horse Judging Team
Coaches Association guidelines:
Individual Halter Ties: Ties are broken on total overall score.
Individual Reasons Ties: Ties are broken on overall halter
placings.
Individual Performance Ties: Ties are broken on the total
of the two reason classes placing scores. The second
tie-breaker is determined by using the overall placing
scores for the halter and performance classes.
Junior Team Reasons Ties: Ties are broken on the total of
the reasons class placing scores, less the fourth dropped
score (if the team consisted of four ontestants).
Senior Team Reasons Ties: Ties are broken on the total of
the two reasons classes placing scores, less the fourth
dropped score (if the team consisted of four contestants).
C. Once the awards are announced and presented, there will
be no change.
