Fall World Championship Paint Horse Show Welcomes Open & Amateur Exhibitors, New Breeders’ Futurity Classes, Clinicians And The Equine Community
Fort Worth, TX—Phase two of the American Paint Horse Association’s World
Championship Show series kicks off November 5, 2009 with the Fall World
Championship Show in Fort Worth, Texas, and continues through November 14 at the
Will Rogers Memorial Center.
The improved format features slot classes, Open and Amateur World Championship
competition in a wide array of disciplines, Challenge and sweepstakes classes,
plus the new Breeders’ Futurity. Sprinkle in unique shopping, clinicians, fun
exhibitor activities and Fort Worth hospitality and it’s a recipe for a great
show!
SHOWING
The Fall World Show is bringing together nearly 900 outstanding Paint Horses in
Open and Amateur competition from across the country and the globe. Competitors
will go head-to-head in halter, Western performance classes, English performance
classes, speed events and everything in between during the course of the event,
with the exception of reining and cattle classes held at the Summer World Show.
Ten days’ worth of classes will see approximately 2,100 entries in the arena. Big
money is on the line in the slot classes and Breeders’ Futurity classes, where
substantial entry fees also mean large payouts for the winners. Horses entered
in the 11 slot classes will compete for $186,250 while the inaugural Breeders’
Futurity will pay out over $67,725 when all is said and done.
Excitement surrounds the new Hart Non-Pro Versatility Challenge as it makes its
debut, as well. Those up to the challenge introduced by longtime APHA corporate
sponsor Hart Trailers will enter the arena and be judged in 4 events—Western
pleasure, hunter under saddle, reining and barrel racing—proving the versatility
of their Paint Horse and vying for a new Hart 3-horse slant-load trailer with
living quarters valued at $32,000.
The Association will host fun activities for the exhibitors throughout the show,
including the ever-popular dog races, a NASCAR-themed golf car decorating
contest and parade and several exhibitor appreciation parties.
