Stalls

Every horse entered in the World Show must have a stall with the exception of those that have paid a grounds fee.

Reserving Stalls
Reservations will be officially accepted beginning September 10. Reservations received prior to that date will be accepted and given the "postmark" date of September 10. Whether the reservation is made by mail, fax or in person-all submissions will be treated equally. Likewise, the time of day the form is received will make no difference.

The entry form and stall reservation form are included in the center of the Premium Book and are available for download at aphaworldshow.com.

In order to secure a previously held location, your stall reservations must be postmarked on or before September 10.

Payment by check, credit card or cash is required at the time of entry. Reservations received without payment will not receive a postmark date and will be returned unprocessed. Payment is deposited upon receipt, but does not guarantee assignment to a requested stall area.

Stalls will be assigned through a lottery, based on postmark date and priority. The lottery system will continue assigning stalls by the date the reservation is postmarked, through the duration of the show. In terms of priority, no difference will be made whether an exhibitor comes for just the Amateur Show or the Open Show, or stays for the entire event.

Stall assignments will be based on the stall locations previously established at the 2008 World Show. The following is the order stalls will be assigned:

  •  Returning individuals whose reservations are postmarked September 10 and are requesting their established location. However, if more stalls are needed, it may be necessary for that exhibitor to move to a different area or have two separate stalling areas.
  • Returning individuals whose reservations are postmarked September 10, but do not have their established stall location available (stalls that do not exist at the Fall World Show), will be given preference for the remaining preferred stall locations.
  •  Returning individuals whose reservations are postmarked September 10 that request a new location.
  •  New requests/individuals whose reservations are postmarked September 10.
  •  Reservations postmarked after September 10 will be assigned in order by postmark date.

Those wishing to be stalled with trainers or another exhibitor must send in their stall reservations together. Stalls will be reserved under the name of the person making payment.

A confirmation statement, which indicates the building where the stalls are located, will be mailed at the middle of October. Stall numbers will be given by the stall office staff upon your arrival at the show grounds. The stall office will be located in the Richardson-Bass Building and will be staffed 24 hours a day beginning November 3, 2009.

Tack, Bedding and Other Stall Rules
If ordering a tack stall for more than one person, all tack stalls must be paid for by one exhibitor. Stalls may be used only to house horses and tack. Any other commercial uses are strictly prohibited.

Bedding is not included in the stall fee and must be purchased from the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The cost for shavings is $6.50 per small bag, $12 for a large bag. Once stall assignments have been made, you can request that your Richardson-Bass or Burnett-Tandy stalls are pre-bedded prior to your arrival by contacting the APHA before Friday, October 23. Pre-bedding must be paid for at the time it is ordered.

While fans are allowed, for safety reasons air conditioners are prohibited in the stalling area. Also, any fabric or paper used or draped in stalls must be fire-resistant or treated with a flame retardant.

Any damage to stalls will be the financial responsibility of the owner/exhibitor/trainer. Stall(s) cannot be resold unless the sale is approved by the Show Management.

Bedding
Shavings will be for sale 24 hours per day through the stalling office. WRMC staff will deliver shavings to stall area. Bedding must be purchased on the grounds and will be available from the stall office.

Panel Removal
Panels in stalls in the Richardson-Bass and Burnett-Tandy buildings may not be removed. In all other barns, a fee of $15 per panel that is removed will be charged.

Soiled Bedding
Exhibitors are required to keep their stalls clean and neat, to dispose of refuse matter in designated dump areas, and remove all items and materials erected by them, including tack stall decorations and all signs.

Stall Decorations
Please limit end-of-aisle decorations to 42 inches deep and allow at least a 7-foot height clearance over aisles for equipment. WRMC asks that a covering, such as plastic, be placed underneath any groundcover or plants. Decorations must be attached using temporary setups, such as wire or plastic ties, and removed prior to move-out. The following may NOT be used: Nails, Liquid Nail, Bolts, Screws, Rubber Cement, etc. Any damage to stalls will be the financial responsibility of the owner/exhibitor/ trainer. Any fabric or paper used or draped on stalls must be fire-resistant or treated with fire retardant.

 Making Changes
Changes to stall reservations are possible if you are flexible. If you reserve stalls for one show and later decide to come early or stay late, it may be necessary for you to move to another area to accommodate your request. If you change trainers, every attempt will be made to put you in the same barn. Finally, if you decide to cancel your stall reservation prior to October 15, you are entitled to a refund of the horse's stall fee, minus a 20% per stall office fee. Absolutely no stall fees will be refunded after October 15.

Grounds Fee
Exhibitors that wish to haul in and out for the day have the option of paying a grounds fee of $50 per horse instead of stalls if desired. Early Move-in
For added convenience, exhibitors may move in early, beginning Monday, November 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early move-in is limited to tack and equipment only- horses are not allowed in the barns before Tuesday, November 3 at 8 a.m. The early move-in fee is $100 and must be pre-paid by October 23. During the early move-in period, exhibitors may put up stall curtains, pre-bed their stalls and move in tack and supplies.
